Gould & Ratner LLP is pleased to announce that Michael Toussaint has joined the firm as an associate attorney in our Real Estate Practice.

To further advance Gould & Ratner’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, Managing Partner Amy Blumenthal has been named Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. In this role, she will oversee the D&I efforts for the firm, including providing operational leadership of all D&I efforts and driving awareness, commitment and accountability.

Gould & Ratner recently provided legal counsel in the sale of closerlook to Fishawack Health. closerlook, a Chicago-based digital marketing agency for biopharma brands, has been a firm client for over 20 years. Fishawack Health is a leading global commercialization for the life sciences industry. Gould & Ratner provided advice on the complex transaction primarily in the areas of general corporate, mergers and acquisitions and tax structuring.

Amy M. Blumenthal and Ilana S. Bley were recognized in “Women in Law” Business Edition by Best Lawyers for 2021. Amy was recognized as “Best Lawyer” for her work in the Real Estate field, and Ilana was recognized as “One to Watch” for her work in Trusts and Estates.

Gould & Ratner sponsored the second virtual edition of The Working Lunch on May 25. The event was put on by Women Employed and honored Sonya M. Harper and Kimberly A. Lightford of The Illinois Legislative Black Caucus, as well as Erica Bland-Durosinmi, Exec. VP of SEIU Healthcare Illinois and Lisa and Mark Pattis of The Pattis Family Foundation. They keynote speaker for the event was Congresswoman Lauren Underwood.

Gould & Ratner attorneys Robert Chidester and Ammara Khan recently represented our client, Navier, a specialist in the design and construction of cryptocurrency mining facilities, in the negotiation and execution of a strategic agreement with Argo Blockchain. Navier will provide a wide-range of consulting services related to the design and construction of the new Argo facility located in West Texas, including the co-design of a sophisticated electrical infrastructure capable of supporting 200MW of mining.
